The Wayfinder

Some people take the train to work. Taye helps the dead catch their last ride. At 17, Taye is already a certified medical coder, the youngest employee in Delmere City's healthcare system, and the only one on his train who can see the recently deceased asking for help. Like his sister Alex before him, Taye has inherited the role of Wayfinder - a rare lineage gifted with the ability to guide spirits through one final unfinished task and into the afterlife. He didn't ask for this. But when the dead start showing up in train stations, hospital corridors, and waiting rooms, he doesn't look away. As Taye learns to balance his day job with spirit tasks and metaphysical mysteries, an old enemy stirs. The Lost - a forsaken spirit fueled by centuries of abandonment - is watching, waiting, and planning his revenge. And someone in Taye's family could pay the price.
